Halloween Concert

Melissa Nabb and her violin students will present a Halloween Violin Concert at the Nacogdoches Public Library on October 24th at 6:00 p.m.

Playing the violin has many physical, mental and social benefits.

With regular practice, you’ll develop stronger arms, better dexterity in your fingers and hands, and better posture. Learning to play the violin also improves reading skills, improves concentration and memory, lowers stress, boosts confidence and encourages social skills such as collaboration and communication and a sense of community. This concert will be presented in full costumes!

Nac Community Band – Fall 2014

Rehearsals for the 2014-2015 Season of the Nacogdoches Community Band will begin on September 7th at 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. in the SFASU Band Hall.

A membership drive to increase the size of the band is currently underway and nearly all band instruments are
needed for this group. Clarinets, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, you name it, you’re welcome to join this fabulous band group. And don’t worry if you have not played in awhile . . . it will all come back to you, sooner than you think.

Please help us reach new band members by spreading the word in the community – let’s get the word out there! It’s going to be a great year!

You can also help by buying a bumpersticker for your car or bike, or a T-shirt to wear around town, to help other musicians find out about us. Bumperstickers in particular are nicely affordable – get several and share with friends!

For more info, contact band director Jeff at jeffbellgardt@yahoo.com
