“Buy Nothing Day”

November 28, 2014

Always the Friday after Thanksgiving!

Amazing, but true, the annual Buy Nothing Day is a popular holiday that has been around for quite awhile and serves as an international protest against excessive consumerism. It has been celebrated for more than 20 years and is still going strong today. More info here.

How to celebrate?

Stay home and rest and relax with friends and family?

Walk in the woods?

Cut up your credit cards?

Or do all sorts of projects around the house, instead?

Whatever you pick, just don’t buy anything today, and you’re all set to have celebrated this very special holiday.

Traps to watch out for . . . . getting gas in the car . . . picking up some milk . . . buying the parts you need for the project today (that you forgot to buy yesterday) . . . . .getting pizza later this evening . . . . . keep alert! The habit of buying is very strong and hard to resist.

Many best wishes for a great day!
